The Second Time Around

Not all relationships last forever, and so when couples find new love later in life, there is no reason why their wedding ceremony should not be as unique & special.

In these circumstances, I often offer couples on their behalf, words that acknowledge for children from a previous relationship that it may not have been easy seeing their mum or dad finding & falling in love with a new life partner.

These words from the 1960s song “The second time around” sung by the likes of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra & Tony Bennett, also help to set the scene:

“Love is lovelier the second time around,
Just as wonderful but with both feet on the ground.
It’s the second time you hear your love song sung.
It makes you think perhaps that love, like youth, is wasted on the young.

Love’s more comfortable the second time you fall,
Like a friendly home the second time you call.
Who can say what brought this miracle you’ve found.
There’ll be those that bet that love comes but once, and yet,
We’re glad you met the second time around”.

There are also many ways of involving children from a previous relationship in your wedding ceremony so they feel involved & included, rather than just observers.

Feel free to get in touch or see my website for more details about how I can make your wedding ceremony unique, personal & special for you… whatever your love story.
